James D. Kreyenbuhl is a graduate of the University of Georgia (B.A., Economics and Political Science, magna cum laude with General Honors), where he was elected to Phi Beta Kappa Society. Mr. Kreyenbuhl is also a graduate of the Georgia State University College of Law (cum laude), where he was a member of the Moot Court Board, serving as president for one term. Mr. Kreyenbuhl began practicing law as an associate at Brennan, Harris & Rominger LLP in 1997 and became a partner in 2005. He is a member of the State Bar of Georgia, the American Bar Association, the Savannah Bar Association, and the Association of Defense Trial Attorneys. He is also a charter member and past-president of the Rotary Club of Effingham Sunrise.
Mr. Kreyenbuhl practices primarily in the areas of insurance defense, workers' compensation defense and education law. His experience in the field of insurance defense includes third-party bodily injury and property damage claims (including automobile accident claims and premises liability claims), first-party bodily injury and property damage claims (including uninsured / underinsured motorist claims and fire claims), and coverage disputes. His experience in the field of workers' compensation defense includes claims arising under the Georgia Workers' Compensation Act and the Longshore and Harbor Workers' Compensation Act. Mr. Kreyenbuhl has served as an attorney for the Effingham County Board of Education since 1997 and he is a member of the Georgia and National Councils of School Board Attorneys.
Mr. Kreyenbuhl is admitted to practice in the Magistrate, State and Superior Courts of Georgia, the Court of Appeals of the State of Georgia, the Supreme Court of the State of Georgia, the United States District Court for the Southern District of Georgia, the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit, and the Supreme Court of the United States. He has prepared numerous appellate briefs and has argued cases before the Appellate Division of the State Board of Workers' Compensation, the Court of Appeals of the State of Georgia, the Supreme Court of the State of Georgia and the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit.
